There is no denying our fondness for the tunes of Cherub. The duo emerged on our radar earlier this year with their Mom & Dad release, sent us soaring to the stratosphere at the SnowBall Music Festival, and kept us moving mere days later with an intimate free performance at Boulder’s Round’ Midnight.
Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber might not technically be local to the Boulder/Denver area, yet Colorado might as well adopt these two. A raging Rocky Mountain run just a month ago coupled with the signing of Jordan and Jason by Boulder record label Elm & Oak, allowed Cherub to stage a musical coup of sorts in Colorado. With a performance set for tomorrow, April 13th, at Denver’s Larimer Lounge the duo is set to bolster their Colorado presence.
Yes, we are talking about a Friday the 13th show, which means the bar is set high for these boys to force the crowd into an evening of getting weird. Cherub knows how to bring a party wherever they play, and expectations are high for the duo’s return to Colorado. Not to mention, they might just be playing the perfect venue for this go around on Friday the 13th. Larimer Lounge oozes with a grimy, underground vibe. It is dark. It is intimate. The potential for a truly unique and special performance abounds.
Two things are certain about tomorrow evening:
1. Cherub will not disappoint.
2. Cherub is bound to enlist a raging legion of new fans.
If you are not in the Denver area, well, don’t fret just yet. Cherub still has plenty of dates left on their tour, which we have placed below. And, if you have still managed to ignore our persistent insistence to listen to Cherub, we have graciously placed the link to download Mom & Dad for free after the break.
