Video du Jour: Thundercat | “Walkin”

Fear not, your humpday Video du Jour has arrived at last. To get you through the midweek blues we have something truly strange for you today.

There is no hiding the love the Fridge has for Thundercat. We caught him at Snowball and Coachella, where he dropped two amazing sets. One in 0 degree temperatures with snow dumping in the background. The second in 100 plus degree heat, with the desert sun pounding down outside the tent. Despite the two disparate environments, Thundercat’s sets each time felt perfect for that exact time and space.

His bass bombs are something of lost age. His fingers move as if they were 8 thunderous cheetahs hellbent on finding the groove and sending it straight into the hearts of eager listeners. Stephen Bruner is Thundercat.

So we bring you this video for “Walkin” off his debut album, The Golden Age of Apocalypse. There is nothing fancy about this little video. The production value is low. Thundercat is in it, and he is accompanied by the likes of his older brother, Austin Peralta, and Flying Lotus. Oh yea, and his feline friends.

Its weird. Its strange. Its quintessential Thundercat.
