Founded by Alex Lee in 2009, Western Affairs continuously shuffled band members until a winning combination was found in 2011 with the additions of Davis Connors and Andrew Monborne. Their sound is derived from a wide range of influences, from new experimental pop DC bands to bizarre avant-garde sounds. Their first single, “Laura,” has just a hint of Smith Westerns sound to it and has gotten me salivating over their July 10 release titled, 2000. Western Affairs is a name you’ll be hearing about real soon.
